The Abdullah Frères are the leading photography artists in the Ottoman Empire in the 19th century and ran a well known studio in Pera, Istanbul. They worked as the royal photographer of the Sultan Abdulaziz and Sultan Abdulhamid and took numerous landscape photographs of Istanbul, social and political events of the era and also portraits of prestigious figures like Mark Twain and the imperial family members.
